Novak Djokovic broke through another barrier as the Serb picked up his 200th indoor win, defeating Nuno Borges 7-6(1), 6-4 for a spot in the ATP Athens semi-finals.

The former No. 1 who is now a resident of the Greek capital eased out to 6-1 in the opening-set tiebreaker and continued his domination in the second set of the quarter-final in the last week of the regular season.

Victory took an hour and three-quarters

“It was a very physical battle. I thought Nuno played a high level,” Djokovic said.

“I was a bit surprised with how good he played. I think we went toe to toe, most of the match. Just a few points decided the winner tonight and he deserves a round of applause for his performance.”
