Raducanu takes a kicking as injury-boot drama flares
The Emma Raducanu soap opera opened another chapter on Thursday as the former Grand Slam winner missed a second day of pre-Wimbledon training while being spotted wearing a grey orthopaedic protective boot.
The newest wrinkle comes 10 days after the 2021 US Open winner reached the Queen’s final but has yet to play any further grass matches prior to Monday’s Wimbledon start.
Online outlet Clay reported that the 23-year-old was spotted around the ground wearing the orthopaedic boot, possibly signalling yet another injury to the former British No. 1 now ranked 32nd.
Raducanu is currently sitting on the redline for the last Wimbledon singles seeding but is leaving a lot to chance in a disorganised the run-up to the grasscourt major where she has twice reached the fourth round.
