Carlos Alcaraz duplicated 2022 Paris success to advance to the French Open fourth round 6-4, 7-6 (5), 6-3 on Friday over Sebastian Korda.

The Spanish third seed who is playing his first event since coming back form a eight arm injury, improved to 4-1 in the series with the son of a former Grand Slam winner after defeating Korda here in 2022.

He moved through in just under two and three-quarter hours under the closed roof of the Chatrier court.

Alcaraz has reached the second week of a Grand Slam in nine of his 13 appearances at the majors.

“It was a really good match. I felt really well,” Alcaraz said. “Moving on the court, hitting the balls,  physically I felt amazing.

“It was a really demanding match, but I’m  happy with the way that I deal every point, difficult moments, everything.

“Today was  up and down, I’m happy with my level of focus since the
first point until the last one.”
