Anisimova stops Noskova to win Beijing title
Amanda Anisimova followed up last month’s US Open final with a second title of the season on Sunday with a 6-0, 2-6, 6-2 defeat of Linda Noskova to win the China Open.
The title success followed on from the American’s Doha trophy from February.
Victory over the Czech took one and three-quarter hours for the world No. 3 as Anisimova lifted a second title this season at the elite 1000 level.
Anisimova, who had her wisdom teeth removed before flying to China, took just 23 minutes to collect the opening set ovr Noskova, firing 11 winners and four unforced errors.
Noskova broke to start the second set in an 11-minute opening game and saved a pair of break points before taking the final into a deciding set.
Anisimova grabbed a 4-2 lead and held on for the fourth title of her career.-
