Badosa dreams of keeping Tsitsipas re-run on the down-low
Paula Badosa suspects she is fighting a losing battle of trying to keep her rekindled relationship with Stefanos Tsitsipas a private affair.
The Spaniard who has overcome recent back troubles and is back on court for the French Open start revealed her futile dream on Saturday.
The WTA no. 140 who once touched second in the world, is back with her ninth-ranked boyfriend after the pair split up this spring and revealed the news on social media.
Now Badosa is trying to put the genie back into the bottle.
“I mean, it’s already our private life. I think one of the things that I didn’t like or we didn’t like is that it was very public,” the Spaniard said.
“So now we want to keep things a little bit more on our own.
“I still understand that it’s not going to be easy because we are two public people, and people will ask… but we want to keep it more for ourselves.
“It’s never easy to combine our careers. Let’s just try to keep it simple for both of us, because I think it helps and it’s healthier.”
Badosa and Tsitsipas could be working at cross-purposes, with a social media clip posted this week showing the pair driving away from the Monte Carlo casino in a flash sports car with the Greek ATP player at the wheel in front of a large group of onlookers.
