Coco Gauff finally found her missing form on Sunday as the double Grand Slam champion strung together three straight-set match wins to reach the quarter–finals of the Toronto Masters.
A 6-3, 6-1 win over Alina Korneeva marked the first time since January that the American showed some consistency.
Gauff last won three matches with minimal effort was at the United Cup and Australian Open, where she managed to win four straight-setters in a row.
The Floridian returned to a quarter-final in Canada for the first time in three years – and the fourth overall – after beating a teenaged opponent from qualifying.
