Henman/Wawrinka to live vicariously at United Cup
Former rivals Tim Henman and Stan Wawrinka will go back to the future in Perth as they captain the British and Swiss sides at the United Cup.
The January 2 team event kick off the Tour season will be staged as usual in Perth and Sydney, with the two nations joined in the Western state capital city by holders the US plus Italy, France, Spain, Greece, Japan and Argentina.
Home side Australia, with Lleyton Hewitt in coaching command, will lead the Sydney ATP and WTA field along with Germany, Belgium, Poland. the Czech Republic, the Netherlands. Norway, Canada and China.
The semi-finals and finals will be played in Sydney.
Three-time Swiss Grand Slam champion Wawrinka and four-time Wimbledon semi-finalist Henman met only once during their career, with Wawrinka winning their second round match in Basel, 2006.
Wawrika will act as playing coach for the Swiss, with No. 11 and new mother Belinda Bencic onside for the women.
Henman will lead an all-star side of No.10 Jack Draper and former US open champion Emma Raducanu..
