With Wimbledon pressing and the Paris Olympics in play, Novak Djokovic is reportedly undergoing extra treatment on the knee injury which forced him from the French Open.

Serb media reported that the 37-year-old who has dropped to third in the world behind new No. 1 Jannik Sinner is under the care of doctors in Belgrade for what was described as “accelerated treatment” on his right knee.

Djokovic tweaked the knee in a third-round win on June 4 and quit the Grand Slam a day later as he underwent a surgical procedure in Paris.

Wimbledon begins on July 1 with experts suggesting Djokovic has no chance to play there given normal recovery times.

Reports said the 24-time Grand Slam winner was walking without crutches when he exited the Centre for Hyperbaric Medicine in the capital. The recovery treatment comprises an oxygen therapy chamber which aids in healing bone and muscle injuries.
