Nick Kyrgios trolls Sinner after escaping drugs ban

Nick Kyrgios,  who expressed concern at  the  original ITIA decision not to suspend Jannik Sinner after he  failed two drugs tests for clostebol last March may have the last laugh.

It was believed that Sinner had escaped a possible two year ban following an ITIA decision, accepting that the steroid clostebol, typically used to build muscle mass, may have been present when his physio applied spray to a cut on his hand before giving the player a bare-handed massage.

This was said to have caused ‘contamination’ Sinner’s legal team claimed and ITIA closed the case.

However, as Sinner was beating  Roman Safiullin today in the China Open the case came  back  onto the  agenda as WADA lodged an appeal against the decision to find him blameless – describing it as ‘not correct under the applicable rules’ – and a potential two-year ban is now firmly back on the cards.
