No complaints for Djoko after midnight in Paris
Novak Djokovic on Sunday refused to join in the scheduling complaints to French Open bosses after wrapping up a five-set thriller in the pre-dawn hours.
The resilient Seb scraped past potential Italian spoiler Leonardo Musetti 7-5 6-7 (6-8) 2-6 6-3 6-0 in a drama which ended just fte 3 am at Roland garros.
Despite Serb fanboys on social media accusing organisers of trying to make life difficult for their 37-year-old hero, the man himself refused to get involved in the growing spat at the event which is not governed by an informal neighborhood curfew like Wimbledon.
“I don’t want to get into it,” the top seed said moments after going through to the fourth round.
“I have my opinions but I think there are great things to talk about as we are talking about this match today and both Lorenzo’s and my performance stands out.
“I don’t want to be talking about schedule(s).”
The 24-time Grand Slam champion will have to intensify his preparation for his upcoming match against Francisco Cerundolo.
Hyped up by his narrow escape after trailing two sets to one against Musetti, Djokovic joked with the handful of fans still remaining at the Chatrier court that there was still time TO let loose.
“With all this adrenaline who will be able to sleep? If there’s a party happening, I’ll come.”
