Raducanu red alert for Wimbledon
Emma Raducanu has dropped a Wimbledon warning after crashing out in the Queen’s club quarter-finals
The newly anointed British No. 1 has concerns about a persistent back problem which has been bothering her for a month.
And the former US Open winner warned that playing at the grass court crown jewel starting in just over a fortnight could be dicey
“I’ve played five matches in a pretty short amount of time,” the WTA No. 37 told the BBC
“I’m probably feeling that, so I need to let the back rest and see how it goes from there.”
But she added: “I’m not overly concerned that it’s something serious, but I know it’s something that’s very annoying and needs proper and careful management.”
Raducanu needed a medical timeout for back spasm treatment in her last-eight loss to top seed Zheng Qinwen at Queen’s.
