Sabalenka ready to let rip after RG embarrassment
Next week will be definite down time for Aryna Sabalenka after her worst performance in memory.
The world No. 1 lost her chance at a fourth Grand Slam title on Saturday, taking a bitter 6-7 (5), 6-2, 6-4 defeat at the hands of Coco Gauff at Roland Garros.
After fighting back tears during the trophy ceremony following a match she called ” the worst tennis I’ve played in I don’t know how many months,” she is ready to re-group well away from the tennis bubble.
“I already have a flight booked to Mykonos.. and alcohol, sugar. I just need couple of days to completely forget about this crazy world,” she said.”If
I could swear, I would swear right now, but this crazy thing (the final) that happened today..
“I think everyone understands. I’m just trying to be very polite right now, but you know, there is no other word,”
And her rehab plans are clear: “tequila, gummy bears, and I don’t know, swimming, being like the tourist for a couple of days.”
