Serena has benign cyst removed
Serena Williams has recovered after having a benign cyst removed from her neck, with the former WTA No. 1 posting the news on her social media along with a hospital picture.
The 43-year-old who last competed at the 2022 US Open but has yet to officially retire, explained her medical situation while confirming that everything has worked out fine.
Williams said she first discovered what was diagnosed as a brachial cyst on her neck last May
“Three tests and one biopsy later,everything is still negative but doctors advised I get it removed ASAP because it was the size of a small grapefruit and it could get infected or worse, leak.
“this is me removing it. I feel so relieved and grateful that everything worked out , and most of all I’m healthy… yes, all is OK.”.
