Jannik Sinner kept his indoor win streak alive with a 6-4, 6-4 defeat of Alexander Bublik on Friday, with the Italian booking his 42nd career ATP semi-finals.

Victory at the Vienna event left the world No. 2 on 19 straight victories under a roof, with his last defeat nearly two years ago.

Sinner moved through comfortably in 76 minutes, breaking his colourful Kazakh opponent six times and losing only five points on serve during the entire match.

He next takes on a familiar opponent in Alex de Minaur, holding a spotless 11-0 record over the Australian who he defeated only days ago in Beijing.

Sinner popped 21 winners – as did Bublik – but held his unforced error count to just 11 as he reached the final four in Austria without the loss of a set.

“It was a tough match, it’s the quarter-finals of a 500 event,” the winner said.”I tried to return as many ballas as possible.

“He was serving great. I’m happy I had some chances early in the first set, even if I didn;t use them.

“He’s a dangerous player, I tried to stay as solid as possible. I had to serve quite brave, try to change it up. It’s not a shot where I feel (my most comfortable), but things are changing every day.”

Sinner will play the 42nd Tour semi-final of his career on Saturday – he has won his last 13 – as he looks to the end of the season with the Paris Masters next week followed by the ATP Finals in Turin.
