Former top 10 powerhouse Stefanos Tsitsipas has brought the hammer down on new coach Goran Ivanisevic, sacking the Croat after a television rant from the Croat on the Greek’s lack of preparation.

The combination only formed in the spring in time for Roland Garros but is now history after several months, two tournaments and one win from three matches.

.“Working with Goran Ivanisevic was brief but an intense experience and a truly valuable chapter in my journey,” it read.

“I’m thankful for the time, effort and energy he dedicated to me and my team,” former world No. 3 Tsitsipas -now ranked 29th – said in a statement.

“As we are now following our separate ways, I have only respect for Goran — not just for what he’s achieved in tennis, but also for who he is as a person. I wish him nothing but the very best moving forward.”

Former Wimbledon winner Ivanisevic had blasted his new client in a television interview in his native Balkans, ripping Tsitsipas’ preparation.

“I have never seen a more unprepared player in my life. With this (my bad) knee, I am three times more fit than him. This is really bad.”

Tsitsipas has had a slippery slide down from the ATP elite, splitting with his father Apostolos as coach and never truly finding his groove after trying to part ways with his parent as a tennis mentor.

His relationship with WTA player Paula Badosa was hot and heavy for several years, only to apparently fizzle out, with the pair unfollowing each other this season on social media.

All indications are that Tsitsipas is struggling with his tennis career, especially after a first-round Wimbledon loss to a qualifier.

“I’m at a stage of my life and my career where I want something refreshing,” Tsitsipas said after his latest defeat. I want something exciting,”
