Tsitsipas to take on Goran as coach
Stefanos Tsitsipas has taken fast action after crashing out of the French Open second round, with the two-time Grand Slam finalist teaming up with Goran Ivanisevic as coach.
The Greek who once stood third in the world but is set to drop out of the ranking top 20, exited this week at Roland Garros to Italian Matteo Gigante.
Croat Ivanisevic, the 2001 Wimbledon champion, formerly coached Novak Djokovic and parted ways near the end of last season with WTA player Elena Rybakina.
The Tsitsipas collaboration is currently provisional, with the pair set for their first appearance at the Halle grass event starting in Germany in a month.
The Croat is expected to demand that Tsitsipas’ father Apostolos – his former coach and ever-present in the player box in Paris – be kept well out of the inner circle as his son struggles to regain form.
